Mats Eilertsen is one
of my favourite musicians and composers. Much has been said, written and
published about the Nordic tone and icy jazz– two music criticism categorisations
that seem to have payed more attention to ECM’s album covers than to the music
itself. This video – which is part of a fabulous documentary series (this one entitled
"Oslo Jazzed Out”) – does not help. However, one wouldn’t mind
taking that particular ferry ride.
